N2, N4, N6, N8 - Massachusettes Ave

The N series of buses run from Farragut Square (Conneticut, K, and 17th Streets) to upper Northwest via Dupont Circle and Massachusettes Avenue. Massachusettes Avenue is home to many emabassies, the Washington Cathedral and American University. Primarily a residential street, there are some commercial areas, including several nice resteraunts. As you can see on the map, the routes diverge somewhat in upper Northwest. The routes also run at different times. N2 and N4 alternate during the day and provide service every 15 minutes or so; in the evening the N6 runs about every 20 minutes. The N6 also runs on Saturdays and Sundays. The N8 runs only in upper Northwest (as far south as the Cathedral area) and connects the Massachusettes Avenue areas with both the Wisconsin Ave. and Connecticut Ave. corridors.
